Fun Run Facts
- The Fun Run was launched in 1983, making it the longest
running charity event in the Phoenix Park.
- It is a key annual fundraising event for Dublin Simon.
- It is the largest charity organised running
event in Ireland.
- Last year, an estimated 2,000 people took part in the
five mile event with hundreds of others simply attending
on the day to support Dublin Simon.
- Some 50% of the participants are school students.
- More than €1m has been raised
since the event began in 1983.
- More than €100,000 was raised last year alone.
- The event has attracted many celebrities, including
Olympic Gold medal winner Ronnie Delaney, RTE’s
Dustin the Turkey, Anna Nolan, Grainne Seoige and the Dublin Football team. We
are currently looking for a celebrity headliner for this
year’s event and will let you know as soon as details
are confirmed.
